スウェーデンはロールストランド製陶所で制作をされた小振りな酒盃サイズの作品です。全体に白に近いクリーム色の釉が掛けられ、さらに吹きつけたかの様な鼠色の斑の表情が現れております。口縁も外側に開いたもので、手取りも軽く、酒盃としてお使いいただくとよろしいものです。当時の北欧では、所属した画家や彫刻家が器をデザインをし、陶工たちが分業で製作していくスタイルで作陶を行っており、アートを量産するような体制で製作されましたが、量産品と言えども、ほとんどが手作業での工程で、その分、器一つ一つに一点物の様な独特の味わいが生まれました。この作品もその量産体制で作られたもので、高台内サインにはSERINAと記されています。この作家の詳細は不明で、今まではグナー・ニールンドや、カール＝ハリー・スタルハーネ作品に同様の釉薬が使用されていたことから、彼らのどちらかの作品ではと思っておりましたが、恐らくは彼らにオーダーを受けた釉薬職人の作品なのではと最近は類推しております。作品の状態はたいへんによろしいものです。
This is a small sake cup size piece produced at the Rorstrand pottery in Sweden. The entire pottery is covered with a creamy white glaze, with a gray mottled look as if it were sprayed. The mouth rim is open outward, and the handle is light, making it a good sake cup to use. In Scandinavia at that time, painters and sculptors designed the vessels, and the potters produced them in a style similar to the mass production of art, but most of the work was done by hand. The details of this artist are unknown, and until now I thought it was one of Gunnar Nylund or Carl-Harry Stalhane, as they used the same glaze, but recently I have come to the conclusion that it is probably the work of a glazier who received orders from them.
