スウェーデンはグスタフスベリ製陶所に在籍した作家、スティグ・リンドベリのミニチュアサイズの碗作品です。リンドベリの残した陶芸一点物シリーズの中でも、ミニチュアサイズの作品が時折制作をされております。設計図を描いているのはリンドベリで、轆轤はスヴェン・ヴァイスフェルトが担当していると考えられます。全体に濃い瑠璃釉が掛けられ、その上から茶釉が二重掛けされており、お互いが混ざり合い、まるで吹き墨のような、チリチリとした表情が大変に美しいものです。釉を紙などでマスキングをしたのか、見込みには放射の線状に文様が現れております。この釉の組み合わせや、文様は、普通サイズのリンドベリ作品には多く見かけますが、ミニチュアサイズでの細かな文様はほとんど見かけず、 さらにピリッとした線文の作品は大変に珍しいものです。形はきれいな碗なりをしておりますが、 高台はなく、底が凹んでいるタイプのものです。 これも東洋陶磁の影響よりは、西洋のスープボウル等から形を発想しているように感じます。ミニチュアながら口縁は極薄手で、まるで紙で作られたような薄さでして、大変に緊張感のある佇まいをしております。状態はたいへんによろしいものです。
This is a miniature-sized bowl by Stig Lindberg, an artist who worked at the Gustavsberg pottery in Sweden. Among Lindberg's series of one-of-a-kind ceramic pieces, miniature size pieces are occasionally produced. It is thought that Lindberg drew the blueprints and Sven Weisfelt was in charge of the potter's wheel. The entire vessel is covered with a dark lapis lazuli glaze, and then a double layer of brown glaze is applied on top. The glaze may have been masked with paper or something, and the pattern appears as radiating lines on the surface. This combination of glaze and pattern is often seen in normal size Lindberg works, but rarely in miniature size works with detailed patterns, and even more rare in works with beautiful line patterns. The shape of the bowl is beautiful, but it does not have a high base, and the bottom is concave. Although it is a miniature, the mouth rim is extremely thin, almost as thin as if it were made of paper, giving it a very tense appearance. The condition is very good.
