スウェーデンはグスタフスベリ製陶所に在籍した作家、スヴァン・ヴァイスフェルトのミニチュアサイズの花器作品です。ヴァイスフェルトは1946年から53年まで、ロールストランド製陶所で轆轤職人として働いたのち、1953年にグスタフスベリ製陶所に移りました。長い間、スティグ・リンドベリの轆轤師として働いたのち、1974年にはグスタフスベリのアートディレクターに就任しております。北欧作家では珍しく、作品すべてを自ら轆轤成型し、施釉、焼成まで行う作家で、スウェーデンではベルント・フリーベリに継ぐ陶芸家として有名です。 2009年に亡くなるまで作陶を続けており、最晩年には釉薬やそのレシピも売却をしてしまいました。こちらの小さな花器は、全体に薄茶の釉が掛けられ、その上から濃い茶釉が二重掛けされており、お互いが混ざり合っておりますが、口先から肩の部分にかけて濃茶の釉が溜まり、一部は釉垂れをして流れております。上の茶釉がやや粘性のあるもので、指でさわりますと盛り上がっており、凹凸が感じられる肌をしております。この凹凸のある表情の釉は、ヴァイスフェルトが開発したもので、彼の作品に多用されております。釉の毛並みもチリチリと細かなもので、口先から高台まで綺麗に流れ落ちておりますが、フリーベリの表情とは違い、彼独特の流れ方をしております。形はぷっくりと雫状に膨れた胴から、口先がラッパ型に伸びた、曲線の美しい瓶子型をしており、小さいながらも精緻な佇まいをしております。状態も大変によろしいものです。
This is a miniature vase by the Swedish artist Sven Wejsfelt, who worked at the Gustavsberg pottery. Wejesfelt worked as a wheelwright at the Rorstrand pottery from 1946 to 1953, and then moved to the Gustavsberg pottery in 1953. He worked as a wheelwright for Stig Lindberg for a long time, and became the art director of Gustavsberg in 1974. He is rare among Scandinavian artists in that he does all of his own wheel throwing, glazing, and firing. He continued to make pottery until his death in 2009, and in the last years of his life, he sold his glazes and recipes. This small vase is covered with a light brown glaze and a dark brown glaze on top of it. The brown glaze on the top is slightly viscous, and when touched with a finger, it rises, giving the skin an uneven appearance. This glaze with an uneven appearance was developed by Wejsfelt and is often used in his works. The furrows of the glaze are fine and flow down beautifully from the tip of the mouth to the base of the bowl, but unlike Friberg's expression, it flows in a way that is unique to him. The shape is a beautiful bottle shape with a drop-shaped body and a trumpet-shaped mouth, with beautiful curves. The condition is also very good.
