Miniature bowl with brown glaze
W 4.2cm H 2.8cm 1962年製
Gustavsberg G hand Friberg d (1962)
This is a miniature-sized brown bowl by Berndt Friberg, an artist who worked at the Gustavsberg pottery in Sweden. The entire bowl has been covered with a brown glaze, and then a darker brown glaze has been applied over the top of the brown glaze, mixing with each other and flowing nicely throughout. The rim of the mouth has been wiped clean of the glaze, and the gradation of the glaze is beautifully displayed. This brown glaze is the base of Friberg's glaze, which is also characterized by many pieces with well-made expressions. The furrows of the glaze are fine and flow down from the mouth rim to the base. The shape is that of a regular circle with the mouth rim distorted with the fingers, forming a soft triangle when viewed from above. When viewed from the side, the mouth rim has a unique undulation, which is a standard Friberg bowl shape. It is a well-made miniature piece of royal beauty from the early 60s, with a seamless and graceful appearance. There is one small chip on the side of the base, but the rest of the piece is in good condition.
