デンマークはサクスボー製陶所の酒盃サイズの作品です。元々、サクスボー製陶所は、 釉薬研究家であり科学者のナサリー・クレブスと、 彫刻家グナー・ニールンドによって1929年に立ち上げられた実験的な工房でして、 東洋的でシンプルなフォルムや釉の作品をどこよりも早く作り出しました。北欧ではかなり先進的な発想を持った製陶所で、その後の現代陶芸に与えた影響は計り知れないものがございます。後に、サクスボー製陶所は1957年にミラノトリエンナーレにて、金賞も受賞しております。 サクスボーの作品は、全て、ナサリー・クレブスによって、釉薬が施されており、形を所属作家が各々制作をしておりました。この作品は、所属作家の中でも、ほとんどの轆轤を担当したエバ・スター・ニールセンの轆轤で作られており、 白の釉薬をナサリーが担当しております。 全体にやや燻んだ白釉が掛けられ、所々には鼠や茶の表情が現れております。口縁の素地には雫のパターンが陽刻で配されており、同手の作品は見かけたことがございません。形は、手捻りで横に広げられたオーバル型のお碗で、口縁はやや内側に抱え込んでおります。状態はたいへんによろしいものです。
This is a sake cup size piece from Saxbo Pottery in Denmark. The Saxbo Pottery was originally an experimental workshop founded in 1929 by the glazier and scientist Nathalie Krebs and the sculptor Gunnar Nylund, who were the first to produce oriental and simple forms and glazes. It was one of the most forward-thinking potteries in Scandinavia, and had a significant influence on contemporary ceramics. The Saxbo Pottery was later awarded the Gold Medal at the Milan Triennale in 1957. All of Saxbo's works were glazed by Nathalie Krebs, and the shapes were created by the artists themselves. This piece was made on the wheel of Eva Star Nielsen, who did most of the wheel throwing, and Nathalie was responsible for the white glaze. The entire pottery is covered with a slightly smoky white glaze, with gray and brown expressions appearing in places. The base of the mouth rim is decorated with a pattern of drops, which I have never seen before. The shape is an oval bowl that has been hand-twisted and spread horizontally, with the mouth rim held slightly inward. The condition is very good.
